streaming translation
i have feature request for streaming translations. i attend meetings where everybody speaks in language i do not understand. started using superwhipser to translate. currently i have to record small piece, end recording and then processing takes a bit time before i see translation but i cant record new piece while processing takes place. so if there were a feature with sort of streaming/buffering translations that would be great. additionally if it would read out the streamed translationt that would be even more amazing. before i found out about superwhisper i started to make such program myself. spend few hours messing with cursor-ai and openai whisper api. got it somewhat working but it was really poor detecting when talking starts so i gave up trying to do it myself.

POINT 1: I sometimes have fairly complex phone calls, and I mean work calls where important things are said, or more technical calls where, speaking with technicians, they explain procedures—for instance, how to handle the alarm system, what to press, which button to press under certain conditions. With this whole set of technical information you get during the call, it often happens that you understand it in the moment but the next day you’ve forgotten it. In that case it would be very useful to have a recording of the call with a real-time transcription. Of course I don’t know if that’s possible, but it could be an idea to work on. I have an iPhone, a Mac, and an Apple Watch; however, recordings made with the Watch can be unclear because you move your left arm away, there can be background noise, and in that case Apple Watch recordings might not be ideal. Also, the call might be a bit long, and in any case, once the recordings are finished on the Apple Watch they go to Apple’s cloud and, in theory, you would have to sync them with the Mac and then feed them into Superwhisper to be transcribed. So I was wondering whether Superwhisper could record the phone call directly. In that case it would be useful if it could be done anonymously, because the iPhone already does it but it warns that the call will be recorded, and in some cases that can be, let’s say, a bit inelegant. POINT 2: it can also happen that you need to record calls, online meetings, or virtual sessions that then need to be summarized. It’s true there are programs that do that directly, but maybe Superwhisper could already capture the audio and then return it in a formatted, more readable way.
