I like very much the "hold earth key" on Mac to record from other solutions.
I kind of think push-to-talk should be the default mode (again it is in WisprFlow and it was so intuitive) on the desktop app. Having to press a button twice introduces massive interaction friction. Once I had the shortcuts configured correctly for push-to-talk, things were a breeze on Mac desktop app.
100% essential and must feature. Especially since it is such a basic requirement, which most people would find useful, and for some, it’s a significant improvement over this tiny improvement.
This is an older suggestion, too! Im pretty bummed this one hasn’t been picked up yet, sometimes I just need a few minutes to gather my thoughts or something comes up and I have to stop recording to talk to someone and then go back to what I was doing with the recording. Having a pause would be a huge QOL change for me, and I’m sure for many of us.
Desperately need this. Use case: I'm currently watching a Loom recording and need to pause it to add my thoughts. I don't want to manually have to go to my notes app, paste one chunk, then go back to Chrome, click play, start recording again, x30. I just want to pause recording until I have something else I want to say
This would be super useful. Currently, I have to either restart the recording after every sentence... or use LLM prompt to make it continue the sentence if it sounds like I was just contemplating.

yes, letterly has this feature! Check out their custom prompts as well- and their wehoooks!!! https://letterly.app/
