NVIDIA Parakeet open source models are under premium tier?

I wanted to share some feedback regarding your pricing model, specifically around support for locally hosted open-source models. I’m a SuperWhisper user and I think the product is genuinely excellent - the UX and the seamlessness of the transcription experience are great. However, I feel the current pricing structure is a bit hard to justify when it comes to locally run models (e.g. NVIDIA Parakeet which isn’t available under the free plan).   My reasoning is straightforward: when a user runs an open-source model locally on their Mac: taking full advantage of Apple Silicon - SuperWhisper itself isn’t doing the heavy lifting on the AI side. The model runs entirely on the user’s own hardware, using their own compute. In that scenario, SuperWhisper’s value-add is the interface and the integration layer, which is genuinely useful, but it’s different from a situation where you’re proxying a cloud model with associated API costs on your end.  Charging premium pricing for local model access therefore feels misaligned. The models are free and open-source, the compute is the user’s own, and there are no cloud costs involved for SuperWhisper. It would make much more sense to reserve the premium tier for cloud-based model integrations, where there are real infrastructure costs to cover. I’d love to see locally hosted open-source models included in the free plan. I think it would also be a strong differentiator and would resonate well with the developer and power-user community.

I agree. The app is really great to use, but the pricing model needs to be reconsidered for local use only.
