Filters on recorded history
I use Superwhisper for research dictation, prompt writing, Slack messages, and meeting recordings that feed into my meeting-notes knowledge base. My two main Modes are “Meetings” and “Dictation.”
History search is useful when I remember a specific word or phrase. Often, though, I remember which Mode I used or roughly when I recorded something. In those cases, filters would be a quicker, more predictable way to find the recording than trying different search terms.
Two filters would make this much easier:
Mode: Show recordings made with a selected Mode, such as Meetings or Dictation.
Recording date: Offer quick choices such as Today, Last 7 Days, and Last 30 Days, plus a custom date range. Showing the recording time alongside each result would also help identify a particular meeting.
Ideally, these filters would work together and alongside search—for example, showing “Meetings from last week,” then optionally searching within those results. A visible Mode label on each recording would also make the full list easier to scan.
I’m already using the Superwhisper CLI in scripts alongside the Fantastical MCP to match recording start and end times to calendar events, then append meeting details to transcripts during processing. That supports my automated workflow, but I still regularly return to History to retrieve and copy individual transcripts.
Mode and date would be my highest priorities. Duration and recording source could be useful additional filters under a compact Filter menu as the feature evolves.
This would complement the existing search by letting users find recordings through the context they remember, even when they don’t recall the exact words they used.
